Miami-Dade County Commission for Women Wine Tasting Fundraiser Thursday, July 30
posted on Jul 28 by Miss-InkMIAMI-DADE COUNTY COMMISSION FOR WOMEN TO
HOLD WINE TASTING FUNDRAISER
Event hosted and sponsored by Full Bodied Wine & Spa
MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women will hold a wine tasting fundraiser on Thursday, July 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Full Bodied Wine & Spa (Full Bodied) located on the first floor of CocoWalk at 3015 Grand Avenue.
Sponsored by Full Bodied, the event will aim to help the Commission for Women, an advisory board and an advocate for women in the community, raise monies for such endeavors as the Connections Directory 2009, a guide of local women’s organizations.
Entry into the event is $20 per person and includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and a raffle ticket, which will be good for a drawing to win a Full Bodied vinotherapy spa treatment. A portion of the proceeds from the admission fee, as well as wine, product, and spa services purchased during the evening, will be donated to the Commission for Women.
“The Commission for Women appreciates the opportunity to have our fundraiser at Full Bodied Wine & Spa,” says Laura Morilla, executive director of the Commission for Women. “We applaud the Spa’s willingness to reach out to the community, and to women’s organizations in particular.”
“We look forward this fabulous fundraiser at Full Bodied Wine & Spa. The Miami Dade County Commission for Women thanks the spa for hosting this event and for hosting fundraisers to benefit women’s organizations in our community,” adds Carmen Elias-Levenson, chairperson for the Commission for Women. “Please join us for some wine, fun & networking.”
“The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women is an extremely important extension of the Board of County Commissioners,” say Francie Huber and Emile Mourad, owners of Full Bodied. “We recognize and appreciate the hard work that women’s organizations provide for Miami. It is our pleasure to help them raise the funds needed to continue advocacy for women in the community through this event.”
Guests are asked to RSVP their attendance to Morilla at (305) 375-4967 or at Morilla@miamidade.gov. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the event.
Full Bodied is located on the first floor of CocoWalk at 3015 Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove. For more information call (305) 444-1085 or visit www.FBwineandspa.com.

About Miami-Dade County Commission for Women
The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women, formerly the Commission on the Status of Women, was founded by feminist leader Roxcy Bolton and created by the Board of County Commissioners in 1971. The Commission for Women is part of the County’s Office of Community Advocacy. Its 26 members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to serve in an advisory capacity to them, to the community and to all agencies and persons in Miami-Dade County “with respect to all matters pertaining to the status of women.” The membership of the Commission for Women reflects the diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds represented in Miami-Dade County so that the concerns of all women are addressed by the Commission for Women. The Commission for Women monitors, among other things, the condition of women as related to discrimination, employment, education, and attitudes toward women in the community. In addition to being an advisory board and an advocate for women in the community, our Commission office also serves as a source of referrals and information for women who call with different problems and issues.
