The private launch event for Recycle-IT will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at Town Kitchen and Bar in South Miami.

With technology rapidly evolving and today’s gadgets becoming tomorrow’s news rather quickly, local technology businesses TECKpert and Preemo are taking a green approach with Recycle-IT, Miami’s first ever E-Cycling campaign.

The campaign benefits The Foundation for New Education Initiatives, a non-profit entity created by the Miami-Dade County School Board to enhance student achievement and community engagement in support of The Parent Academy and other educational initiatives of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Supporting the Foundation’s recently launched campaign “Bringing Wireless to the Classroom”, Recycle-IT acts as a clearing house for implementing technology in our public schools’ classrooms. The federal government is matching each $1 raised in this campaign ten-fold. For every $1 raised, the federal government will give Dade County Public Schools $10.

The innovative campaign benefits the community three-fold. In addition to connecting children with technology and helping keep toxins out of our local Florida landfill, the campaign will provide members of the community a place to responsibly dispose of unwanted electronic items.

“This campaign provides a great opportunity for individuals and businesses alike to help develop Miami’s E-cycling infrastructure,” says Adrian Esquivel, founder and chief expert of TECKpert.
Running from January 11, 2012 through February 29, 2012, those wanting to participate in Miami’s first E-cycling campaign can schedule pick-ups through Recycle IT’s Facebook page.
“We’ve had a great response so far from our clients and we’d now like to bring Recycle-IT to our community. With the rapid turnover rate of technology devices, it’s important that we all dispose of older devices properly and safely,” says Ivan Mladenovic, founder of Preemo.

The private launch event for Recycle-IT will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at Town Kitchen and Bar in South Miami.
